CSAirLink Radio
Certified Systems is committed to being a leader in the alarm industry so our customers have total piece of mind.
CSAirLink is a band new, incredibly fast and reliable radio network. This network is a military-grade, encrypted radio communication system that operates on secured radio waves, oh yeah, did we mention that it’s fast!
Because of CSAirLink phone lines for alarms are obsolete. We can assure you no one will compromise your communications to the Central Station and your safety. It is completely wireless, therefore we have eliminated the major weak point of any alarm system, the phone line. Another incredible benefit of the CSAirLink Radio is the speed of which information travels. One of the reasons for this incredible speed lies in the radios ability to maintain a constant connection. There is no dialing, when the alarm trips, the signal is sent and our Central Station knows about it in seconds!
In a nutshell, CSAirLink can serve you better:
- CSAirLink is available to commercial and residential customers.
- We can offer you an alarm system with 2-way, confirmed communication. Your alarm messages are verified and “acknowledged” on 2-way paths all the way to the Central Station. This is a major improvement over the existing, one-way system.
- Redundancy is more secure and our CSAirLink radio will ensure your signal is heard by our Central Station by empowering up to 8 routes. Basically, your alarm system will have 8 ways to make sure your alarm is received. Conventional telephone systems use a single path, with no backup if the signal is blocked.
- The link between your alarm and the central station is checked, constantly, assuring that your security link in “on line,” always.
One more huge benefit for our commercial customers includes saving money by getting rid of your required, dedicated phone line. CSAirLink Radio will replace the dedicated phone line and provide an even better means of communication to your monitored sprinkler system.
- We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers better protection and in some cases reduce your monthly fees.
- With CSAirLink Radio and our Central Station on your side you can count on reliable ,lighting fast response times.
- Chico, California business owners have already experienced the power of CSAirlink, take a second to read this great reality. CSAirLink Get’s ‘Em

Save Money on Homeowners Insurance
One of the great features of a home alarm system, besides peace of mind, is it overall versatility with application. Not only can you use it as a personal management tool, but a fire detection system as well.
By and large; burglary, particularly if you are not home, is a survivable event. Fire on the other hand is final a forever. Typically, you have four minutes or less to vacate your home in the event of a fire. In a panic situation, that is no more than a blink of an eye to get to safety.
If professionally installed, supplemental smoke detectors are connected to your current intrusion system, you will benefit from complete fire protection in your home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whether you turn the intrusion part of your system on or not. Whew! quite a mouthful, but we feel this is something everyone should be aware of. Basic smoke detectors are required and useful, however there are useless if you are not home to hear it. Furthermore, they require your neighbors to hear or see evidence of a fire, then choose to call the fire department. For us, that is just too many variables.
Another juicy fact is that most insurance companies will give between 5-20% discounts on your home owners insurance for a central station connected alarm system. Have you ever seen an insurance company give any a discount of even a few dollars that they did not know was protecting thousands? The sad part is when the insurance company is making a payment to you, they are paying you for tangibles; not the things that are the most valuable to you. Most of us value items with have no monetary value to them, i.e., photo albums, pieces of memorabilia handed down through the family, etc. , not to mention you and your family members lives.
Smoke detectors in your home are required and most of us have them, furthermore, most of us don’t think twice about them and for the most part you shouldn’t have to. We would like to ask, just for a second, that you think about how much safer you would feel knowing those detectors are hooked up to an alarm system that is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
If the idea of linking your smoke detectors to your home alarm system makes you feel more comfortable in any way, please contact us for a free in-home estimate. You can reach us at our toll-free number at 800-95 NO CRIME or email us at custcare@certifiedsystems.net.

Alert: Alarm Scam in Chico Now!
A sighting of APX alarm company was reported today in Chico. Historically, APX conducts summer door-to-door “sales calls.” Sadly, these are not sales calls, they are creatively trying to swindle you by switching your alarm monitoring to an APX account. A while back we blogged about door-to-door alarm scams and came up with a few useful tips to avoid be taken advantage of. Please take a moment to review the content so you are well prepared in case of an encounter. Click HERE to read more.
If it sounds like we are reporting on a wild beast that has escaped from the zoo, good. Many of these APX door-to-door types will stop at nothing to succeed, so arm yourself with information. On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that these folks probably aren’t aware that what they are doing is a poor business practice. We would ask that you simply ask them to leave immediately and then call local law enforcement.
Again, be advised that unethical door-to-door sales types are on the loose in Chico, today. For more information on this please read our previous posting, “Butte County Door-to-Door Alarm Scams”
Also, we are not alone is working to get the word out- run an Internet search for “alarm scams” and see what you come up with.
Spread the word, thank you.
CFL Light Bulbs: Are they worth it?
Improperly installed, energy efficient bulbs are to blame for house fire. Also, learn how to deal with broken or expired CFL bulbs as they do contain mercury.
Many of us have made the switch to compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL) to cut down on energy costs. Consumers have even been given various incentives to purchase CFLs to replace the traditional incandescent bulbs. Sadly, our efforts to cut down on our energy consumption comes at a great cost to some.
Recently, a family of three, plus their beloved goldenpoodle dog suffered $165,000 worth of damages to their house caused by fire. According to Kevin Spradlin with the Times-News, fire investigators determined the fire was caused by a CFL connected to a dimmer switch. Although the packaging clearly states CFLs should not be connected to dimmers, who actually takes the time to read the safety precautions on a light bulb? For years it has been unscrew one and screw in another, simple! Not any more – make sure to read the fine print.
House owner Rick Jenkins mentioned be would have never thought to read such a label, however, now he says he makes sure to take note on advisory labels. Rick realizes his error and is not looking to file a law suite. “I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone,” Jenkins said… “They aren’t worth the cost.” This is not the first time this has happened either. Deputy State Fire Marshal Jason Mowbray mentions that CFL-related fires are “certainly not a trend.”
Since the incident, Jenkins has had a chance to look at CFL packaging and said that many packages containing CFLs promote they can replace a “standard” light bulb. On the other hand, the fine print explains some of the conditions in which they can’t be used.
If you happen to be in the market for CFLs make sure you look near the end of the advisory to see the warnings like outdoor lights must be enclosed – and not to use them with “emergency exit fixtures or lights, electronic timers, photocells or dimmers.” You may also see a warning about mercury.
CFL’s do contain low levels of mercury and should be disposed of properly. Like paint, batteries, thermostats, and other hazardous items, CFLs don’t belong in your household garbage. In fact, it is against California law as of February 2006. To find your local recycling center, visit the Earth911 website, call 1-877-EARTH911, or call your local garbage collection company. You can also visit the California Take-It-Back Partnership to learn more about fluorescent lamp recycling and drop-off locations near you. Also, certain steps need to be taken if a CFL is broken and particles fall on a tile floor or on a carpet. Detailed safety steps can be accessed at www.energystar.gov.
Swapping out bulbs may save you money on your electricity bill and collectively help conserve energy. Keep in mind that non all CFLs are the same and some have specific restrictions on how you use them.
A home fire alarm system will greatly improve your chances of your home being saved in the event of a fire. Even in the case of a light bulb starting the fire, an early detection system might save your home. To inquire about a home fire alarm, give us a call at 800-95 NO CRIME or shoot us an email.

Personal Protection-Home Alarm System
The goal of a burglary security system is to provide personal protection.
While many people think of a security system as something that protects their belongings, we believe the real purpose of a residential system is to protect you and your family.
This is accomplished by providing a secure perimeter. This means placing a security devise at each door and window for maximum detection. Interior motion detectors are also commonly installed for those periods of time when your home is unoccupied.
Ultimately, all of the Certified Systems’ team members have families and we understand that your family is just as unique as ours, which is why we will create the best security system for you and your family.
The “stay” button refers to a function in most alarm keypads and when activated, all interior motion detectors are off and you are free to roam about your house without setting off the alarm.Having a secure perimeter can perform many functions for you and your family depending on your family’s dynamics. What do we mean by this? A security system can also be a bit of a personal protection management tool. If you have a young family and have the need for babysitting services then the system can work for you as a safety factor to insure that the sitter only has the responsibility of caring for your child(ren) during your absence. Additionally, if your family is a bit more mature and you have reasons to have a child come home from school on their own, you can be assured that they will not enter their home with unwanted guests. The system can also be designed to provide you with a notification that they have arrived home safely and they could then arm (turn on) in the “stay” mode and do their homework or whatever until you came home. For in-depth clarification and more ways to use your alarm system as a management tool, read more.
When it comes to residential alarm systems, our number one goal is to help protect you and your family and live your life with true peace of mind.
